ABOUT ME
I’m a writer. Fiction mostly. Some poetry used to pop out and there’s always been personal essays taking form, but these days, mostly fiction.
It’s probably been always that I’ve reached for the pen to find my thoughts. But in 2014, with some time in lieu and too many empty notebooks, I overtook the uncertainty that plagued me and walked into my first Freefall Writing workshop. I have not looked back.
An early draft of the novel length work Only Everything, was shortlisted for the Fellowship of Australian Writers, Unpublished Manuscript Award and an extract saw me awarded as a semi-finalist for the River Styx Microfiction Prize.
The characters of my second novel are increasingly demanding my time and the world and worries of the third are emerging. I’m going to be busy for a while.
I have undertaken an invited residency at Varuna, and am alumnus of the Australian Writers Mentors Create program, Curtis Brown Creative Editing Class, Faber Writing Academy Writing a Novel and, Sirenland Writers Workshop. In 2017 I was honoured to audit US writer and Professor Jim Shepard’s Fiction Workshop at Williams College, MA, USA.
I am blessed to live in Naarm (Melbourne in a sanctuary of my own.
